Aloo vada

Ingredients

Besan flour.                            150 gms

Boiled potatoes.                     2-3 no

Jalapeño peppers.                  1 no

Onion.                                      1/2 no

Fresh coriander.                      2 tbsp

Chaat masala.                          To taste

Chilli powder.                           1/4 tsp

Salt.                                             To taste

Baking powder.                         1/4 tsp

Cumin powder.                          1/2 tsp

Method

  • Mix besan flour and baking powder and make a thick batter using water
  • Peel potatoes and mash them by using hands or fork
  • Add chopped onions, coriander and chopped jalapeño 
  • Add all powdered spices and mix them well 
  • Make round balls of golf sizes
  • Heat oil and dip these balls in besan batter and fry till golden brown
  • Enjoy either with mint chutney, ketchup or coconut chutney
  • Or enjoy the mumbaian way put them in pav bread with chutney and with cutting Tea
